Yoga Studio

Founded in 2012, Umina Beach Yoga offers the community affordable, convenient yoga classes in a beautiful, peaceful space. Classes cater for all ages and abilities. Our dedicated and experienced teachers offer an extensive timetable with different styles of yoga.

We are a community yoga studio

We are dedicated to supporting you on your yoga journey whether you are new to yoga or an experienced yogi. Yoga can be adapted to suit anyone, regardless of fitness, flexibility or the lack of it!

NEW STUDENTS

Expect to feel both calm and energised at the end of a class. You may find you sleep better, cope better with stress and improve your creativity shortly after starting regular yoga classes. You’ll also feel stronger, more balanced and clearer in your mind and body.

Yoga is for everyone: men, women, kids, teens, through to seniors, mothers-to-be and new mums. Taking your first step onto the yoga mat is an exciting new beginning. Whichever style or class you go with, we believe that the only way to start yoga is with the highest standard of teacher in the best environment. Built For Tranquility

Although the Sanskrit word yoga is commonly interpreted as ‘union’, it’s primary meaning has been that of practices for the cultivation of the highest awareness at all levels of the human being. There are many ways to practice yoga including meditation, study, self enquiry, chanting and hatha yoga.

Helen

Helen Macnair

Helen’s yoga journey began in 1990 in her early 20’s. She began teaching in London in 1997 and is a registered senior teacher with Yoga Australia. She has been living in Australia with her family since 2006.

Philippa Curnow

Philippa made the sea change to the Central Coast 3 years ago from a fast paced life, working in Sydney’s beauty industry. She knew she had found a sanctuary and community when she found Umina Beach Yoga.

Liz Pool

Liz has a life- long passion and interest in the holistic practice of yoga. She loves a variety of styles and finally completed her dream of becoming a qualified yoga teacher in 2016.

Julie Hatfield

Julie teaches yoga because she sees it as a wonderful way to contribute to people’s wellbeing. Yoga addresses so many aspects of physical and emotional wellbeing and it really is accessible to everybody.

Tina Vella

Tina started yoga later in her life having attended many yoga retreats in Bali and India, which stirred up her curiosity about the benefits of Yoga and how she can apply the Practices and Principles to her life.

Amie Raz

Amie has been a student at Umina Beach Yoga since the surf club days. She has been practicing yoga since her early 20’s, throughout her pregnancies, using the practice to counter balance physically demanding work, managing migraines and physical injuries.
